1 Definitions

DRTS refers to the Department of Roads and Transport Safety, Botswana. You refers to any person accessing the Platform. Portal refers to the secure learner/client area. Services include online information, bookings, inquiries, learning material, and related features.

2 Platform Purpose

The Platform supports Botswana road safety and transport services by enabling users to access information, submit inquiries, manage profiles (where applicable), view bookings/schedules, and access approved learning resources.

3 Eligibility & Responsibilities

  • You must provide accurate and truthful information.
  • You must update your account details when they change.
  • Where a user is a minor, guardian consent may be required.

4 Account Security

  • Keep login credentials confidential.
  • Report suspected unauthorized access immediately.
  • DRTS may restrict accounts to protect public service integrity.

5 Acceptable Use

  • No fraud, impersonation, or misleading submissions.
  • No malicious scripts, attacks, or unauthorized access.
  • No abusive, unlawful, or harmful content.

6 Bookings & Scheduling

  • Bookings depend on availability and eligibility.
  • Late arrival or missed bookings may affect rescheduling.
  • DRTS may reschedule due to safety or operational needs.

7 Payments & Billing (If Applicable)

  • Fees may change in line with regulations/policy.
  • Payments must follow approved channels only.
  • Proof of payment must be verifiable and authentic.

8 Uploads & Attachments

Where uploads are required (e.g., ID proof, photos), you confirm the documents are authentic and you have the right to submit them. DRTS may reject unreadable or suspicious uploads.

9 Communication

DRTS may send important service-related updates by Platform notifications, email, or SMS based on the details provided.

10 Reviews & Feedback (If Enabled)

  • Reviews must be respectful, truthful, and relevant.
  • Personal private information of others must not be posted.
  • DRTS may moderate unlawful or harmful content.

11 Privacy & Data Protection

DRTS handles personal information responsibly and may store logs for security and lawful compliance. Information may be shared only when required by law or authorized government processes.

12 Intellectual Property

Platform content including design, text, logos, forms, and software features belongs to DRTS or authorized partners. You may not copy or redistribute without permission except for lawful personal use.

13 Service Availability

DRTS does not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Downtime may occur due to maintenance, network failure, or emergencies.

14 Limitation of Liability

DRTS is not liable for indirect losses, third-party failures, or downtime beyond reasonable control. Users should verify critical deadlines through official channels where necessary.

15 Termination / Restriction

DRTS may suspend access where there is misuse, fraud, security risk, or breach of these Terms.

16 Changes to Terms

These Terms may be updated to reflect policy, legal requirements, or service improvements. Updates take effect once published.

17 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Botswana. Any disputes will be handled under Botswana’s legal processes.
